Travel with Peace of Mind

With so much to consider while travelling at this time, we’ve set some additional measures in place to ensure you have a care free stay with us.
Healthy & Safety
COVID

Studies have shown that the coronavirus transmits less effectively outdoors. Hotel Guiones has the added benefit of being situated near to the ocean breeze. Still, we endeavour to provide a secure, safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff by adhering to strict guidelines in terms of cleanliness, disinfection of rooms and shared areas – observing safe distancing. All of our staff is required to wear masks at all times while on the premises. We continue to make adjustments as the information from the international health organizations, and local Ministerio de Salud (Ministry of Health) regulations come in.

Even with these strict protocols in place, viral transmission is still a risk. Hotel Guiones will not accept responsibility for contracting COVID-19 while visiting Nosara.

Getting here

Nosara is a small town located on the Pacific coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

The nearest airport is the Liberia (LIR) International Airport which is a 2.5-hour drive from Nosara. Transport can be arranged by our concierge after your stay with us has been booked. Alternatively, you can arrange to take a flight from both international airports (San Jose, SJO or Liberia, LIR) to the Nosara Airstrip (NOB) which is located only a 10 minute drive from our hotel. We can arrange your airport shuttle. Please contact us upon booking.

The nearest doctor, Paradise Medical Centre, is located 5 minutes from the Hotel. They can handle any minor medical attention you may need. The nearest hospital is a 2-hour drive away, and for severe emergencies a helicopter air-lift can also be arranged at a moment’s notice.
Nosara is a very safe place and we have never had any issues regarding the security of our guests. There is 24-hour security and cameras monitoring the entire property, to ensure your safety and security of your property. Discretion is of the utmost importance, and our staff is trained to not reveal any information about the guests of the hotel.
Throughout most of the year we enjoy sunny skies and warm days (Avg. 75ºF) along with fresh nights and mornings (Avg. 63ºF). Our rainy season is from June to November when rain can be expected most days, however when the clouds do give way golden sunlight illuminates some of the lushest landscape guests can encounter in this area. From November to March is our winter season, characterized by the same vibrant green landscapes with cool days and brisk night temperatures calling for pants, shoes and a good coat whilst outside. Otherwise this time of year provides all the right inspiration to settle into one of the many living spaces near a crackling fire in the evening hours.

Shoes are not required for life here in Nosara. Comfort is key! Pack sandals, swim wear, comfortable, casual clothes for the daytime. In the evening a pair of walking shoes and breathable resort wear. During our rainy season (October – November) bring a light sweater or jacket for the chily times of day – evenings and at dawn. If you wish to enjoy any outdoor activities during our rainy season (which can be quite invigorating and beautiful), we recommend a waterproof jacket and shoes for your convenience.
